New Year, New Kitchen

Updated: Dec 9, 2022

A new year calls for a new kitchen! Going into the new year, are you trying to get the latest and greatest trends? Or are you sticking with your own personal preferences? The new year is great to find some new ideas, but don’t let some drastic change push you away from your space. If the current trends aren’t what you personally would like, don’t do it! Trends are coming and going, so don’t commit to a trend that you aren’t ready to live with for the next few decades. For example, recently white has been very trendy. But, the wood tones are coming back. The suppliers are going back to selling wooden and warm finishes in 2023 that have been out of trend for a couple of years now. If you like wood, don’t commit to all white if you know you’re 1) going to stain it 2) don’t like it, and 3) can’t afford to change it back. Kitchens are an expensive renovation, unless you’re renovating to flip/sell, make it something you want to live in. If this is your life long home, resale value shouldn’t be too much of a concern. That being said, if you want or need a revamp, the new year is your time! Start fresh. Enjoy it for the full year. Make it your own. The new year is perfect for new plans and ideas for you to get started on. Many people pick up new hobbies, why not home design? Planning it out can be a very exciting process. Not only the design process where you get to see it come all together, but the pre planning as well. Choosing the different colors, materials, layouts that could be yours is a very optimistic feeling. Getting to match new appliances and kitchen accessories is exciting! But the key is to work with a reliable company that will make sure everything is smooth sailing. Check the reviews, the social media, and the recent projects. Make sure they are people you want to work with. They will be helping you through the whole process, so you want to be on the same page as them. At GKS, we do our best to be as understanding and relatable as possible so that you can trust we have your best interest.
